Day ProgramsCommunity Living Victoria operates a wide variety of day programs that provide meaningful opportunities for individuals to participate in their community, make social connections and develop areas of interest based on individual wishes. Marin Park Day ProgramThis is a work skill program based in Brentwood Bay. The participants maintain yards, gardens, and parking lots at various businesses within the community. A range of recreation and leisure activities are also incorporated into the program. Ralph Street Day ProgramThis program provides a variety of activities for people who require one to one support due to the physical needs of the participants. Activities include volunteering in elementary school classrooms with children learning to read, sorting books at school libraries, and cleaning toys in day care centers. Recreational activities include swimming, music programs and attending various attractions throughout the city. Community Access Program and Satellite ProgramThese two programs offer individuals a range of recreational, volunteer, work related and educational activities including: swimming, yoga, music programs and craft projects. Volunteer activities include: delivering Meal on Wheels, cleaning toys in day care centers, packaging lunches for school children at a community school, serving refreshments and cookies at a seniors centre, and collating newsletters and flyers for community groups. Educational opportunities are offered in: sign language, computer training, self-advocacy and social skills. Work skills include a recycling project at the Victoria airport and a parking lot clean-up crew. |
